Today, we are going to go over one of Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals newest products. They have finally come up out with their standalone collagen product. This is a powdered collagen and how many servings are in it? What all is going on with it?
Jordan:
This collagen is going to be 30 servings. It's going to be actually the type one and the type three collagen, which actually makes up about 90% of all the collagen in our body. That's very critical for youthful age, skin, hair, nails, joint support, pretty much anything in your body. Helps rejuvenate, improve those joints. So per scoop, it's unflavored, it's 20 grams of protein, 80 calories and then it's hydrolyzed collagen peptides. And it's also going to give you on the back, the breakdown of all the amino acids, that come with it. So, basically you can add this to anything that you're drinking on a daily basis.
Brad:
With the breakdown of amino acids, so some people will see 20 grams of protein and they're like, "Okay, cool." So it's like whey. It's very different from whey. And the whey... the reason that it's different is that the breakdown of amino acid from collagen proteins to animal type proteins, whey protein, all that, is totally different. When you eat animal protein, like whey for muscle building, that type of stuff, you get a lot of leucine. You get a high amount of leucine, which is a muscle protein synthesis amino acid. It's going to help you build muscle. When you consume collagen, you get a lot of glycine, I believe it is.
Jordan:
Yep. It sure is.
Brad:
You get a lot of glycine, 3,700 milligrams and a lot of proline. So why that's important is glycine will turn into hyaluronic acid, which a lot of you guys already know there's serums for it, their standalone product. But if you get it from the source, you get a weigh better outcome, I guess. It converts into more hyaluronic acid down the road. So that's kind of the difference. If you're using whey, it's going to give you more leucine which is for muscle building. If you're going to do collagen protein, you get more glycine, which is going to help you with all of the hair, skin, nails, joint benefits. And then one other point I want to make about this. A lot of people will want convenience for things.
Brad:
A lot of people want pills. I get it, for a lot of things it works. For fat burners it works, for different types of smaller milligramage things, it does work. When it comes to collagen if you're taking pills, for you to get an effective dose, well all the studies show low ends of studies are 10 grams. Middle range of studies are 15 and plus. So the fact that this is 20 grams, you're getting a good dose. Don't get the pills if you can avoid it, because if you're getting the pills, you're paying a lot per serving and for you to get however much you need. I think capsules are half grams. You would need like 20 capsules to get what you actually want out of collagen. So they definitely go above and beyond by at least five grams in here, giving you the 20 grams. You're going to get a full serving plus of collagen.
Brad:
Plus if you use Hi-Tech, you know that's a reputable source. You know that they're getting good legit ingredients and they always have their CLAs available. So if you ever want to look, go to their website or email them, they'll definitely give you that information. Have you ever used collagen before?
Jordan:
I have, I actually frequently use collagen on a daily basis.
Brad:
What do you notice the most? Do you notice more joints or the aesthetics, like the hair, skin, nails.
Jordan:
More for me, it's definitely the joints. I'm someone who lifts very heavy on a daily basis. So I'm putting a lot of stress, all my joints, knees, elbows, wrists. So continuously taking collagen, I've seen an improvement, less popping, less overall pain, less inflammation. So it's definitely something that we know works and it's been proven to work as well.
Brad:
And for most people, a lot of people may take stuff they want to know it's working. When you take collagen, it takes a little while to start working. But the thing that is more tried and true that people know it's to start working the first tell, tell sign, is that their nails always end up getting a lot harder. That's what I've heard from a ton of customers. They say that the first thing they do, their hair, their nails aren't as brittle and they just get hard and they get more useful, I guess. So when you start taking it, that's something to look out for that you kind of know the stuff's starting to kick in. Yeah, I think that's all I got.
