New Strawberry Banana Prime Hydration Drink Review
Yesterday we told you about the All New Strawberry Banana flavored Prime Hydration Drink and last night we managed to get our hands on a bottle so we've got a review for you.
For some reason both the flavor and the bottle design and color scheme give a very 90s Retro Vibe which is fitting as there seems to be a lot of nostalgia for the 90s recently. And for some reason Strawberry Banana seems like a 90s type of flavor, not sure if its remembering an old strawberry banana Now and Later or Laughy Taffy flavor but for some reason Strawberry Banana is a flavor which really seems to take you back.
So what did we think of the New Strawberry Banana Prime? Strawberry Banana is a great flavor when done well. Prime Strawberry Banana had a great flavor, it seemed to be equal parts strawberry and banana, one flavor didn't seem to overwhelm the other. I also really enjoyed that the banana had a pretty natural banana flavor, it wasn't that incredibly artificial banana flavor of say Banana Runts that a lot of banana drinks and candies tend to have. As I was drinking it I had that feeling of "I know this flavor but cant put my finger on it.". Then it hit me, for anyone who remembers the old Strawberry Banana flavored Danimals Yogurts it was spot on that flavor, all be it without the creaminess of the yogurt as Prime has a more crisp and refreshing flavor and consistency.
Other thoughts on the drink, it had that same mouth feel that Prime Drinks always tend to have, a bit more viscous than a Gatorade or other sports drinks. In terms of level of sweetness, they nailed it, I'd say it was about a 7, not too sweet but plenty of sweetness and flavor. Overall we'd score the All New Strawberry Banana Prime Hydration drink an 8.5 and to me is a top 3 flavor right up there with Blue Raspberry and Ice Pop.
