Orgain Fruity Cereal Plant Based Protein Powder
Orgain Fruity Cereal Protein Powder
If you're not familiar with Orgain, Orgain is a supplement brand who makes drinks, bars, and even sleep supplements, though the brand is especially well known for their protein powders, specifically their plant based protein powders.
While many people think of Orgain as "The Costco Protein Brand", because the brand has long been prominently sold in Costco stores, the brand has their own website, sells on Amazon and is in some brick and mortar supplement shops as well.
In today's post we're going to be taking a look at and reviewing the all new Orgain Fruity Cereal Protein which is an organic plant based protein powder that's garnered a buzz online.
Orgain Fruity Cereal Plant Based Protein Macros
Orgain Fruity Cereal Protein contains 150 calories which is a bit high when compared to say a whey protein isolate, but is still relatively lean in the grand scheme of things and is comparable to a lot of whey protein blends. IN addition to the 150 calories this protein contains 15 grams of carbs, 8 grams of fiber, 0 grams of sugar, and a respectable 21 grams of protein sourced from Organic Pea Protein, Organic Brown Rice Protein and Organic Chia Seed Protein. Due to the variety of protein sources this protein powder does have a complete amino acid profile.
Those who prefer more natural supplements will also appreciate that it's sweetened with erythritol and flavored with organic natural flavors. You can checkout the supplement fact panel to see the complete supplement fact panel and ingredients below.
Orgain Fruity Cereal Protein Taste & Texture Review
Every plant based protein powder claims that it's both delicious and non-gritty, however anyone of us who's tried plant based protein powders knows that often they don't taste great and are very gritty, so we were anxious to try out Orgain's New Fruity Cereal Protein.
First off in terms of taste, I was impressed, this protein powder actually tasted like Fruit Loops. I've tried a number of "Fruity Cereal" essentially Fruit Loop flavored protein powders and previously I hadn't taste any which really nailed the flavor, the last one I tried pretty much tasted exclusively like the yellow or lemon flavored Fruit Loop. Orgain Fruity Cereal Protein really nailed the Fruit Loop flavor. I was also both impressed and surprised by how sweet it was, it's acutally sweeter than many whey proteins I've tried in the past. I've tried a lot of Orgain products in the past and this one was by far the most accurate.
As for the texture, it was pretty good. Plant based proteins are always going to have that grittiness, it's just something you're going to have to accept however I will say this is one of the best textures I've experienced with plant based proteins, I also noticed that Orgain Fruity Cereal Protein is also much much smoother when mixed with coconut milk or almond milk as opposed to water. No it's not going to have the texture of say your favorite RTD Concentrate Protein but its about as good as I've tried with a plant based protein option
Would I Buy It Again?
So after having tried Orgain's Fruity Cereal Protein with water, coconut milk and almond milk I have to say yes I absolutely would buy it again. This is one of the better tasting plant based proteins I've tried and definitely one of the best if not the best in terms of texture. I also like how they sweetened and flavored it with natural ingredients. I really have nothing bad to say about this protein other than the fact I probably couldn't drink it everyday for a month. While I don't really get tired of straight vanilla or chocolate proteins, while I enjoy the more unique flavors they're not always something I can drink day in and day out but I'd definitely buy it again and it's definitely something I'd drink 1-2 times a week to shake things up and take a break from my plain vanilla protein powder.
