Reviewing Costco's All New Nurri Protein Shakes Featuring 30 Grams of Protein

Costco's Nurri Protein Shake Review

Don't tell the boss but Costco is my go to place for RTD Protein Shakes. Costco has always had a wide array of RTD Protein Shakes and you can't beat their prices so they've always been my go to for RTD Protein Shakes. Over the years I've tried many such shakes from Costco including RTD Protein Shakes from Alani Nu, Premier Protein, and Shamrock Farms, so when I saw an all new RTD Shake called Nurri while browsing the isles of Costco yesterday I had to grab it. I had seen these being featured a lot in recent days on Instagram and TikTok as well.I grabbed a case and in today we're going to be sharing our thoughts on these all new Nurri Protein Milk Shakes.

What Is Costco's Nurri Protein Shake?

When I saw a display with these shakes I was initially a little confused as the box and cans say "Ultra-Filtered Milk Shake" as opposed to protein shake. Looking at the label I saw 30 grams of protein, but didn't in the ingredient list see where the protein was actually coming from as the label only says "Ultra Filtered Skim Milk". Upon some further investigation online however it seems the protein is a whey protein isolate.

In terms of the macros Nurri Protein Shakes feature 150 calories which is a little high for a whey protein isolate, but only by 20 or 30 calories. It also features 2.5 grams of fat, 2 grams of net carbs, and a single gram of sugar. They're sweetened with Sucralose and Monk Fruit.

Currently Nurri Protein Shakes are only available in Chocolate however if you visit the brands website DrinkNurri.Com it does show Vanilla and Strawberry flavors as coming soon.

How Do Costco's Nurri Protein Shakes Taste?

Nurri Protein Shakes taste great, they had a great chocolate taste without any hint of that gross "protein taste", and I've seen some compare them to a less thick and less sweet YooHoo. I've seen others compare them to FairLife, though personally I hate FairLife Protein Shakes and find them to have an odd bitter aftertaste.

The most notable thing to me about Nurri Protein Shakes was that they're thinner than most other protein shakes, especially RTD protein shakes which tend to have a much more "milkshake like" consistency. That's not a bad thing, they taste great and I actually enjoyed the texture but it is noticeably thinner and less creamy than many other RTD Protein Shakes.

Would I Buy Them Again?

Costco's Nurri Protein Shakes came in at $19.99 for a full case. Here's a little trick for you about Costco, anything ending in a .99 price is full price item, where as items ending in .97 are manager special or marked down items, there's some other tricks and hacks regarding colored price tags but this is at full price. That said I would expect these to possibly go up in price in the future as this seems to be a brand new product and brand and they may be pricing it low to get people to try it. At $19.99 for a 12 case it comes in at a very reasonable $1.66 per shake for 30 grams of protein which is a pretty solid price, especially for an RTD shake and a whey protein isolate at that.

I would definitely buy these shakes again, while sometimes I do like a richer more milkshake like consistency these are definitely something I could see myself drinking daily without getting sick of it and you really can't beat the price. I look forward to trying the Strawberry and Vanilla varieties which will hopefully be hitting Costco sometime in the near future.

As far as a rating or score I'd probably give these a 7.5 out of 10, its not the best protein shake I've ever tasted but it tastes great, provides a good amount of protein and comes in at an excellent price point.
