Higenamine is a stimulant meaning it may increase heart rate, expand airways in the lungs, and widen blood vessels, all things which improve sports performance and athletic performance.

Andrenergic Receptors are involved in smooth muscle relaxation,  heart contractions, controlling musce tone in the respiratory system and controlling blood flow by relaxing or tightening arteries.

According to studies higenamine given orally is rapidly absorbed and reachs peak levels in the blood within 10 minutes, however higenamine is poorly absorbed with only 3-22% entering the blood stream.

DOES HIGENAMINE HAVE SIDE EFFECTS?

Potential Side Effects of Higenamine include increased blood pressure and rapid heart rate.

WHAT IS THE HALF LIFE OF HIGENAMINE?

The only data we could locate on the half life of Higenamine was done with IV injections of higenamine as opposed to higenamine taken orally which tends to be poorly absorbed. That study found that the half life of higenamine was 0.133 hours. The half life of higenamine taken orally is likely less.
